What should I expect as a guest?
Simply, you will be met where you are. That attitude will be evident as you step out of your car and one of our greeters meet you with a smile and a handshake. If you have questions about children and youth programs, they are the people to ask. Our greeters will direct you to restrooms and if you come in between services, they will show you where you can get a hot cup of coffee or some juice.
As you enter into our worship service, you will notice people of all different ages. We are a balanced congregation with many golden year members and a whole bunch of kids and their families. Some will be wearing suits but most will be dressed casually.
One of our ushers will hand you a bulletin that contains information on the service for that day. Sit where you please. If you are an active listener, we provide a place on the bulletin where you can write information. Also, in the bulletin is a guest card that we ask you to fill in so we can get a chance to know you and send you a gift package the following week.
As you sit down, don’t be surprised if one of us stops by and talks with you. We are a friendly bunch. As the worship time starts, you will see that our music is a mix of contemporary and traditional songs. We believe God is pleased with them both! Misty is our worship leader. Sometimes she leads a simple acoustic set, other times she brings in the entire praise team. Sometimes even a choir. Our desire is that during worship, people have an encounter with God and so we try to keep the music fresh and meaningful.
We like families to worship together. All children kindergarten and up are encouraged to sit with their parents or with a teacher. About 20 minutes into the service children kindergarten to fifth grade are invited up for a message with Pastor Bob and then they are dismissed into a secure classroom environment. We have four children’s classes at each service along with youth and adult classes as well. Pastor Bob will then provide a 25-30 minute biblically anchored message. Intermixed throughout the service are videos, object lessons, and times of prayer and song. We try to keep the service to around one hour.
If you brought children with you, they can be met by going through the doors on either side of the stage. Classes and ages are clearly marked next to each door.
BBC provides a range of opportunities for attendees and their children to move beyond just the weekend services. Our goal is to help you develop a deeper, more meaningful relationship with the God of the universe and other people.
